I'm chatting with my Specialist Maths lecturer during SAM last year, mr woon via facebook right now.
kinda weird chatting with a lecturer but aiyooo he's still as funny as ever la ahahhaha.

---
Since i'm feeling particularly lazy today and don't wanna do anything studies-related, lemme post up a few backdated pics la :D

hahaha this pic was taken in klia when we were waiting for another cousin's arrival.
we got hyper and took a lot more posing pics :P

ahhahaha so childish but so cute la! it's not always you're young, y'know? :)

obligatory jumping shot, especially when the airport is relatively empty.

okay, a considerably sane picture after we've settled down for a bit :D

i like this pic! because i took it *smug wth no la. it's because i managed to capture all of my relatives' reflections are in it!

i banged my toe against this stool in the dining room just now and half of the toenail is coming off aaahhhh. not funny, i tell you. my toenails are very prone to coming off ): one of my toenails just
shedded by itself for no reason TWICE ALREADY. no knocks, no ripping off of it with force wth, no nothing. thank god the toenails actually grew back. no actually, that's the weird thing; there's sort of an ingrown toenail, and
then the toenail shedded off ): so i guess that means i have that ingrown toenail disorder? T_T
and then when i was small, another toe's whole toenail just came out when the retractable metal seat stand in my uncle's van fell and slammed right onto that toe T_T with blood and everything wth. see la, lost so many toenails already.

Was supposed to go for the rock genesis in zouk but plans tak jadi in the end huhu someone please give me something substantial to do. anything except assignments, thankiu veli much.

Secrets. so tired of keeping them. rest your laurels, they're not at all big world-comes-to-a-standstill-if-let-out secrets of the century. in fact, they're pretty unnecessary. see, that's the problem. why do we have to put up facades for the world to not see the truth? every day it's a whole repetitive process of shedding one layer of beguilement and lies not needed anymore only to add another layer to it.
damn, now that sounded like a snake.

dei this post is damn random lah, don't mind me.

i can do (half of) the frogstyle!
Hie everyone! yes i'm very much still alive and kicking! :D besides the fact that i'm pretty bogged down with work thus the absence from this site. well, actually i suspect that that really isn't the reason, it's more like i'm lazy. period.
because i don't wanna talk about depressing stuffs like how stuck my pharmacy, health and society assignment is, i'm gonna focus on my swimming lessons instead! yes you've heard it right. i'm having swimming lessons now!:D so people, you'll have no more of throwing or dunking me into the pool hmmph. very fun is it now! those who know how to swim will never understand the scary feeling of being threatened to be thrown or, well, thrown into the pool T_T
i'm learning with my two cousins and sisters right now :D which makes the swimming lessons twice as fun!:D i've always wanted to learn how to swim so the lessons are very fun for me. not too sure about my sister(s) though (one of them is more enthusiastic about it than the other) ahah. but having my cousins and sisters along makes it even more enjoyable! :D
ok la i admit that i've only just begun my second lesson wth and so far we've learned... how to hold our breath and release it underwater, how to stay afloat, and how to move the legs for the frogstyle :D funnnnn. although it gets quite embarrassing at times cos our instructor can be quite the straightforward and sarcastic T_T
hmm. on a sadder note, learning swimming with my cousins and sisters makes my heart a lil heavy; we're all growing up too fast! even now, our swimming lessons only get to coincide SOMEtimes cos of our different schedules and stuffs. and red flags wth hahah (as much as i hate saying that it's an inside thing cos i hate it when people say that, well yeah it's an inside thing ><)
oh well. all the more reason to make full use of these moments, i guess :)
i know i've posted up this pic before but it doesn't hurt seeing it again! :)---
more updates tomorrow when i've uploaded more pictures onto flickr! :D
fulamak, as if la people actually bother following my blog :D

Earth Hour, what else?
So i guess the hot question going around would be: 'Did you switch off your lights?', tying in with Earth Hour.
Lots of mixed reactions coming from everyone young and old eh. Some say it's a good cause, some it's a big gimmicky event. Welllll, i'm somewhere in between (yeah damn potong stim, i know, 'somewhere in between'), leaning more towards the latter lah.
i know it's for a good cause and some who are supporting the global event mean good intentions, and i'm happy that it's raising awareness, but see, that's where the problem lies; it's not addressing the real issue.
what's gonna happen after that one hour? are people going to continue having 'switch-off-lights-for-one-hour's for the weekends after this? what about saving on water, petrol, paper? while it's raising awareness, yes, cos of the big hoo-haa over the event, but i think what the earth would be voting for right now, if it were possible, would be that people will realise the need for and actually inculcate habits that would help save the environment. i briefed through the official website, but no i don't see any stressing on the need for each of us to remove our carbon footprints on earth. instead i see instructions on how you should liveblog about the event, upload videos, send emails about it yadda yadda; all of which actually needs electrical energy. hypocrisy much?
my dad was watching the national geographic channel and it was giving (note this)practical tips and trivia on how to save on the amount of energy you use every day. and that, would be what we need instead of just hopping onto the bandwagon without realising the importance and urgency of the situation. while (hopefully) the campaign is reaching its target of creating awareness, i believe there should also be education on what people can actually do to help save the earth (god this is starting to sound like an essay). it seems to me that people are just tapping on the 'cool' factor by actually 'voting' for Earth (and now i sound like an old grumpy grandma). but really, switching off the lights for just one hour out of the hundreds/thousands(depending on how determined you are) of hours that you could actually save on a yearly basis by simply being more mindful over the usage of electricity in your household won't make that big a difference, will it?
now i'm not going to be some hypocritical preachy person who goes around condemning and criticising considerably well-meaning environmental campaigns cos admittedly i'm not the most environmental-friendly person you can find. but in conjunction with the earth hour, i pledge (chewah) to do my part and so i'm gonna start out by.. printing on both sides of the paper. yeah told ya i'm not exactly the greenest person around but well, at least i'm trying to do my part to make a difference? and considering how anal i am with the lecture/tutorial notes that i print ie. i dislike having too many slides on one page and thus the 'need' for the single-sided notes, i'm really trying to lessen the burden i put on mother earth. sorry trees for causing your counterparts to be chopped down every single day due to my ignorance. well at least i do save on water and electrical energy. time to cut down on the plastic bags too i guess.
and in answering the topmost question, no i did not switch off all the lights in the house but i did switch off my room light and did my work in the living area with my sister.

Love for a child.:
F words that summed up this week:
1. Fat her mail!
Fat her(father) mails are SMSes from perth from my uh father (and mother), which we lovingly coined the term 'fat her mail!' for ala america next top model's tyra mail (and fat her mail should be said in the same tone like 'tyra mail!'. those who watch antm would get it, ya guo qing?) :D every day we'd be looking forward to the fat her mails. my dad would update us on what they did, saw and ate and stuffs. then we would update them briefly too on what we did, (not much on) saw, and ate. and then my dad would end the conversation abruptly wth. like 'there were a lot of stalls lining the market. bye.' wth ahhaha damn cute.
2. Futsal
The coursemates and i went for futsal at sports planet on wednesday! it was an all girls team :D with the exception of two guys(eugene, our class rep, and hema's bf, harish) who layan-ed us girls screaming playing futsal. anyway, it was soooo funnnnn, especially after an uh year-long hiatus from futsal. i miss it so muchhhh. ahem i am aware that i still suck at it, but o' well, practice makes perfect! right? right.
us girls are planning for the next one already!:D
3. Food
Oh god i've always been aware of how difficult it is to find good food in subang, but this week proved how hard it is to even find just (cheap)food here. we've been eating out every day, and it is no easy feat deciding what to eat. dahlah there were losers(read: men who go kisskiss whistlewhistle when you walk past) everywhere we went.
anyway parents are back now and let us just say they surprised us with their shopping capabilities o.O they literally bought the whole perth back, and i do not know how they managed to fit everything into their luggages o.O
but i'm not complaining, of course :D :D they bought soo many stuffs for us *touched. whee, thank you pa and me!
ps: title of post was shamelessly stolen from jason mraz's (duh) love for a child. great songgg <3 luckily for me though, the context is a total opposite of what the song is all about :)
ps punya ps: we made our first bottle of "medicine" (which, really, was just lemon syrup :P) a few lab practicals ago. omg, i was surprised when i found myself having this.. proud oh-my-god-this-is-officially-the-first-step-towards-becoming-a-pharmacist-it-isn't-that-bad-after-all feeling while looking at the labelled amber-coloured bottle :)

play count
A quick check on my iTunes reveal that Melee's Built to Last currently has the highest play count of 93 and Raymond Lam's Ai Bu Jiu has only been played 48 times! teh horrorz. okay it's not that horrifying cos i do love built to last to bits after all, but how can my favourite song from my favourite artiste not have the highest play count! i do remember listening to it quite a fair number of times.. oh well, i foresee lots of early mornings with ai bu jiu played on the ipod then :P
